Job description

Schneider Electric is seeking an Expert Data Engineer to join our EcoStruxure Data Platform team. In this role, you will help build, enhance, and support scalable cloud-based data solutions that enable insights from connected IoT devices deployed across customer environments worldwide.

You will work at the intersection of data engineering, cloud technologies, and DevOps practices, developing and maintaining data pipelines that support a broad portfolio of connected products and digital services.

This position is ideal for an engineer who enjoys solving complex technical challenges, designing reliable and scalable data pipelines, improving platform performance, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver business value., * Design, develop, deploy, and support scalable cloud-based data solutions in Microsoft Azure.

  • Build and maintain data pipelines that ingest, process, and deliver data from connected IoT and platform sources.
  • Enhance, optimize, and troubleshoot existing data pipelines to improve performance, reliability, and scalability.
  • Collaborate with software engineers, product teams, and platform stakeholders to deliver solutions that meet business requirements.
  • Design and document pipeline architectures, feature-level solutions, and associated technical implementations.
  • Deploy and manage data workloads running in Kubernetes environments.
  • Participate in software testing activities including test planning, review, analysis, and validation.
  • Implement monitoring, logging, alerting, and observability capabilities to support operational excellence.
  • Contribute to cloud infrastructure deployment and management activities using infrastructure-as-code and DevOps practices.
  • Support Agile development processes and collaborate effectively within distributed teams., You will work at the intersection of data engineering, cloud technologies, and DevOps practices, developing and maintaining data pipelines that support a broad portfolio of connected products and digital services.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field.
  • 3+ years of experience as a Software Developer, Data Engineer, or related engineering role.
  • Experience designing and developing data pipelines in a cloud environment.
  • Experience with cloud technologies, preferably Microsoft Azure.
  • Experience with GitHub Actions and GitHub Workflows.
  • Experience working with Kubernetes and containerized applications.
  • Experience with Go programming language or strong software development experience with the ability to work effectively in Go-based environments.
  • Experience working in Agile development environments.
  • Working knowledge of CI/CD concepts and tools.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to manage ambiguity and adapt to changing priorities.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills., * Experience integrating data with APIs and external services.
  • Experience with Terraform.
  • Experience with Azure ARM Templates and Bicep.
  • Experience guiding or mentoring junior team members.
  • Knowledge of Azure infrastructure, security, identity, and token management.
  • Experience with time-series databases such as InfluxDB or TimescaleDB.
  • Familiarity with AI-assisted software development tools such as GitHub Copilot.

Benefits & conditions

For this U.S. based position, the expected pay range is USD 117,600 - USD 176,400 per year. This pay range includes base pay and short-term incentives. The compensation range for this full-time position applies to candidates located within the United States. Our pay ranges are determined by reviewing roles of similar responsibility and level. Within the pay range, individual pay is determined by several factors including performance, knowledge, job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
