Security Infrastructure Engineer

• We support the design, configuration and maintenance of a wide range of security tools.
• We advise on design, deploy and configure new solutions, and assess existing deployments and client capabilities to improve maturity.
• We support the design and configuration of security tools such as Splunk and Sentinel SIEM, Nessus Vulnerability Management, Microsoft XDR and others as appropriate.
• We specify infrastructure requirements including RAM, disk, CPU and network bandwidth for security tools.
• We support the creation and establishment of cloud hosting and containers, as well as on-prem hosted VMs and containers, while applying security controls and compliance frameworks.
• We support the design and configuration of network security devices, routers and switches, and the establishment of VLANs, DNS and identity management capability.
• We support deployment of security tools to cloud hosting and containers, and on-prem hosted VMs and containers.
• We support the integration of security tools with identity management solutions.
• We develop test procedures to confirm solutions meet functional and non-functional requirements.
• We act as a generalist technical SME supporting deployment and configuration of tools including Jira and Cribl.
• We work from company offices in the UK with some time on client sites in the UK and occasional travel to Europe and Asia.
• We engage with stakeholders, communicate insights and maintain high standards of behaviour with clients.

This Security Infrastructure Engineer role is based in Guildford or Frimley, with hybrid and flexible working arrangements available. You will join our Defence business unit and help build a dedicated Security Operations Centre supporting the cyber defence of a major international defence programme. • We require a minimum of SC clearance, ideally DV clearance.
• We are looking for a talented and enthusiastic individual with excellent technical and client-facing skills.
• We need demonstrable technical expertise and the ability to adapt to new technologies.
• We require experience in network design and configuration, Kubernetes and Docker deployments, and VMware deployments in both cloud and on-prem environments.
• We require experience in basic administration of Windows.
• We require experience in configuring Linux, including package managers and scripting.
• We need an understanding of TCP/IP component layers to identify normal and abnormal traffic.
• We require the ability to work with confidentiality and matters of national security.
• We need the ability to communicate insights and concepts effectively to others and build stakeholder relationships.
• Experience of Cribl and Jira ITSM work is desirable.
