Job description

  • Configure, maintain, and support enterprise network switches and routers.
  • Monitor network health, performance, and availability.
  • Respond to incidents, alerts, and support tickets in accordance with operational procedures.
  • Troubleshoot connectivity, routing, and switching issues to restore services rapidly.
  • Support and administer Cisco Identity Services Engine (ISE) for network access control and policy enforcement.
  • Utilize Cisco DNA Center (DNAC) for policy-based automation, network assurance, and centralized management.
  • Assist with deployment and optimization of network automation capabilities.
  • Participate in network design discussions and implementation activities.
  • Support equipment installation, cabling, fiber connections, and infrastructure buildouts.
  • Configure and maintain VLANs, routing policies, trunking, and network segmentation.
  • Collaborate with senior engineers on enterprise network enhancement initiatives.
  • Maintain secure networking environments supporting mission-critical operations.
  • Implement firewall policies, VPN configurations, ACLs, and network access controls.
  • Support cybersecurity requirements and compliance standards within a TS/SCI Army environment.
  • Adhere to established change management and security procedures.
  • Diagnose network performance and connectivity problems.
  • Utilize packet analysis and troubleshooting tools including Wireshark and NetFlow.
  • Perform root-cause analysis and provide recommendations for service improvements.
  • Document network configurations, operational procedures, and change activities.
  • Work closely with network engineers, system administrators, and cybersecurity personnel.
  • Communicate technical concepts effectively to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Utilize strong interpersonal and technical skills to support customer mission requirements.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • 3+ years of enterprise network administration experience.
  • Experience configuring and supporting enterprise network switches and routers.
  • Strong understanding of TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, STP, SNMP, and routing fundamentals.
  • Hands-on experience with Cisco Identity Services Engine (ISE).
  • Experience administering Cisco DNA Center (DNAC).
  • Knowledge of firewalls, ACLs, NAT, and VPN technologies.
  • Experience with VLANs, trunking, inter-VLAN routing, and segmentation.
  • Proficiency using packet capture and analysis tools such as Wireshark and NetFlow.
  • Familiarity with enterprise wireless networking technologies and RF troubleshooting.
  • Understanding of RADIUS, TACACS+, and 802.1X network access control technologies.
  • Active TS/SCI Clearance REQUIRED

Zachary Piper Solutions is currently seeking a Sr. Network Administrator to support a long-standing DoD Intelligence Program based in Newington, VA . This position is a full time role that will be 100% onsite . This role is critical to maintaining secure, reliable, and high-performance enterprise networking capabilities supporting intelligence missions within a TS/SCI environment . The right candidate will play a key role in enterprise network operations, infrastructure support, network access control, and secure communications across large-scale Cisco-based environments. This individual will support network administration, troubleshooting, automation, compliance, and infrastructure modernization initiatives.
