We are still looking for the very Top Talent…and we would be delighted if you were to join our team!More in details, UST is a multinational company based in North America, certified as a Top Employer and Great Place to Work company with over ** employees all over the world and presence in more than 35 countries.We are leaders on digital technology services, and we provide large-scale technologic solutions to big companies.?What we look for?We are looking for aSenior Database Platform / Forward Deployed Engineerto play a key role in onboarding application teams to Azure database services, leading database migrations from Oracle and Microsoft SQL Server to Azure, and modernizing workloads towardsPostgreSQLwhere feasible.We are strengthening ourcloud database capabilitiesto support application teams in migrating fromon?premises databases to secure, scalable Azure database services.As part of our cloud platform evolution, we providecurated Azure DB offerings, automation, and self?service capabilitiesthat enable product teams to modernize their data layer while reducing dependency on central DBA operations.Work model is hybrid in Madrid (3 days at the office, 2 days remote working), feel free to apply if you are also open for relocation!Responsibilities:As a Database Platform Engineer, you will work closely with multiple application and platform teams, acting as a technical enabler and migration specialist within a complex enterprise environment.Support multipleAgile Release Trains (ARTs)and product teams in onboarding toAzure database services(Azure SQL, Oracle on Azure, PostgreSQL)Assess existingon?premises Oracle and Microsoft SQL Server databases, analysing migration feasibility, risks, and constraintsDefine and driveend?to?end database migration strategiesin collaboration with application teams.Execute migrations from on?prem environments to Azure, with a strong preference forAzure SQL and Oracle DB services, and support transformation toPostgreSQLwhere technically and functionally feasible.Act as a technical bridge betweenapplication teams, Azure platform teams, central DB teams, and Oracle/Microsoft vendorsEnableleft?shifted database operationsby introducing automation, self?service patterns, and standardized operational models.Design and implement automation for database lifecycle operations such as:ProvisioningAccess managementBackup & restoreMonitoringPatching and basic operationsWe need Azure DB experience with service set-up, on-prem vs cloud assessment, preparation for DB migration and related challenges.Followed by setting up a support model.Educate and coach application teams oncloud database concepts, platform standards, and operational responsibilitiesContribute toreusable templates, reference architectures, documentation, and onboarding assetsto support Azure DB adoption at scale.?Mandatory requirements:5-7+ years of hands?on experienceas a Database Engineer working withOracle and/or Microsoft SQL Serverin enterprise environments.Proven experience inmigrating databases from on?premises to Azure database services(Azure SQL, Oracle on Azure, PostgreSQL)Strong understanding of database fundamentals acrosson?prem and cloud environments.Experience designing and implementingautomated, self?service database capabilities, using Infrastructure as Code or platform tooling.StrongDevOps mindsetand familiarity with “you build it, you run it” operational models.Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, comfortable working acrossapplication, platform, and vendor teams.Pragmatic, solution?oriented approach and ability to operate incomplex, regulated enterprise environments.English at least B2+/C1??
