Job description

ReliaSource is hiring an entry-level IT Field Recovery and Transportation Specialist to support a large-scale IT asset recovery and disposition program in Virginia. The position is based in the Glen Allen / Richmond Metro Area and involves traveling to locations throughout Virginia to pick up, move, document, and transport laptops, desktops, monitors, and other IT equipment. This is a hands-on, travel-oriented position. Assignments may range from local and same-day pickups to multi-day, round-robin collection trips throughout Virginia, including approved overnight stays. ReliaSource provides the vehicles, which may include vans and box trucks. Key Responsibilities

  • Drive ReliaSource-provided vans and potentially box trucks to scheduled asset pickup and delivery locations.
  • Safely handle, load, secure, transport, unload, and transfer IT equipment.
  • Perform physical device moves associated with assigned asset recovery activities.
  • Verify equipment and maintain required chain-of-custody and asset records.
  • Update assigned work in the program’s IT service management (ITSM) system.
  • Follow applicable security, safety, vehicle-use, and asset-handling procedures.

Requirements

  • Entry-level or early-career candidate; 0-2 years of relevant experience preferred.
  • Reliable, professional, organized, and comfortable with frequent driving and travel.
  • Willingness and ability to complete local, same-day, and multi-day assignments throughout Virginia, including overnight travel when required.
  • Comfortable operating company-provided vans and potentially box trucks following required training and authorization.
  • Basic computer skills and willingness to learn applicable systems and procedures.
  • Ability to perform the physical aspects of the position, including regularly handling, moving, loading, and unloading computer equipment, with or without reasonable accommodation.
  • Valid driver’s license required.
  • Successful completion of required background screening is required. Training will be provided, including applicable procedures, systems, security requirements, vehicle-use requirements, and asset-handling processes. Prior specialized IT asset recovery experience is not required.
