Job description

The I.S. Network Technician is responsible for analyzing LAN/WAN functionality, peripherals, security and anti-virus protection. The I.S. Network Technician identifies/ locates and resolves problems as well as evaluates trends and anticipates problems., * Maintains the network anti-virus application, including addition/deletion of users, upgrades and enhancement of software and works with the Exchange administrator to ensure users have the appropriate functionality in place

  • Monitors efficiency of current anti-virus, anti-spam applications providing management with recommendations as to necessary enhancements
  • Utilizing anti-virus application creates and maintains custom filters to protect the Hospital network infrastructures integrity
  • Executes steps necessary to protect network from outside virus, spam, spyware when reported by I.S. Staff or automated alerting system
  • Configures, installs and maintains application and network server hardware and software
  • Configures, installs and maintains user computer system and provides assistance to I.S. Staff
  • Assists in administering Network security and access functions, including network profiles and addressing user questions and concerns related to their security and access to network resources
  • Assists in maintenance of current records relating to network hardware, software and associated licenses, and preparation of applicable reports
  • Performs other duties as assigned, * Promotes culture of safety for patients and employees through proper identification, reporting, documentation, and prevention.
  • Maintains hospital standards for a clean and quiet patient environment to maintain a positive patient care experience.
  • Adheres to infection-control policies and protocols.
  • Participates in ongoing quality improvement activities.
  • Maintains compliance with organization’s policies, as well as established practices, protocols, and procedures of the position, department, and applicable professional standards.
  • Complies with organizational and regulatory policies for handling confidential patient information.
  • Demonstrates excellent customer service through his/her attitude and actions, consistent with the standards contained in the Vision, Mission, and Values of the organization.
  • Adheres to professional standards, hospital policies and procedures, federal, state, and local requirements.

Functional Demands

Semi- Sedentary: Sits and walks throughout workday.

Generally lifting not more than 25 lbs. maximum with frequent lifting and/or carrying of objects weighing up to 10 lbs.

Requirements

  • High school graduate or equivalent
  • Valid drivers license
  • Two (2) or more years of experience in computer network operations with demonstration of increase of skills and responsibility, * High school graduate or equivalent
  • Valid drivers license

  • Ability to operate keyboard
  • Demonstrate good oral and written communication
