On-Board Embedded Systems Engineer Job DetailsAre you passionate about space technology and eager to contribute to the missions that will shape the future of the industry?Join our team as an Embedded On-Board Systems Engineer and help shape the future of space computing.You will be part of the development of advanced avionics and embedded software technologies that will enable the next generation of satellites, payloads, and space missions.You will be involved in the design, development, integration, and validation of state-of-the-art embedded systems, applying modern DevOps and CI/CD methodologies.You will have the opportunity to work on operating system customization, driver development, the implementation of autonomous fault detection and recovery capabilities, subsystem integration, and the end-to-end validation of complex solutions.Your work will play a key role in ensuring the performance, reliability, and robustness of critical systems operating in some of the most demanding environments, contributing to the success of innovative and technologically advanced space missions.If you are passionate about embedded systems, engineering challenges, and the space sector, this is your opportunity to take your career to the next level by contributing to projects that will take technology beyond our planet.Well get to the point; we’ll tell you what’s not on the web.If you want to know more about us go to GMV website.WHAT CHALLENGE WILL YOU BE TAKING ON?You will contribute to the development of advanced technologies for future space missions, taking part in the design and implementation of innovative solutions based on autonomous embedded systems, heterogeneous architectures, cybersecurity, and the application of AI in embedded systems.Your main responsibilities will include:Develop and maintain embedded software and firmware solutions for space-grade avionics equipment.Customize and optimize flight and ground-segment operating systems, adapting them to the specific requirements of each mission.Design and implement low-level software components, including drivers and Board Support Packages (BSPs).Develop advanced Fault Detection, Isolation and Recovery (FDIR) functionalities to enhance system autonomy and reliability.Integrate embedded software modules and onboard subsystems within complex, high-performance architectures.Participate in system-level integration, verification, validation, and performance testing activities.Produce and maintain technical documentation throughout the entire development lifecycle.Contribute to the definition and deployment of test environments based on virtualization and containerization technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes.Analyze, optimize, and continuously improve developed solutions to ensure the highest standards of performance, quality, and reliability.Contribute to the development of innovative technologies that will support the next generation of satellites, payloads, and space missions.WHAT DO WE NEED IN OUR TEAM?We are looking for professionals with a degree in Electrical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Telecommunications Engineering, or Computer Science, with a Master’s degree or specialization in programmable digital systems considered a strong asset.Knowledge of low-level software design and development.Experience working with Real-Time Operating Systems (RTOS).Familiarity with the space sector, space technologies, or participation in aerospace-related projects.Hands-on experience in embedded systems programming.Ability to work effectively in multidisciplinary environments and technologically demanding projects.Interest in innovation, critical systems engineering, and the development of high-reliability solutions.It will be a plus if you also have knowledge of:PetaLinux.Xilinx Vivado.Kubernetes.Docker.Communication systems and protocols.Artificial Intelligence techniques (planning, machine learning).Cybersecurity.Continuous Integration (CI).Continuous Deployment/Development (CD).Software quality standards.ECSS (European Cooperation for Space Standardization) standards.WHAT DO WE OFFER?Hybridworking model and 8 weeks per year of teleworking outside your usual geographical area.Flexible start and finish times, and intensive working hours Fridays and insummer.Personalizedcareer plan development, training and language learning support.National and international mobility.Do you come from another country?We can offer you a relocation package.Competitivecompensation with ongoing reviews, flexible compensation anddiscount on brands.Wellbeingprogram: Health, dental and accident insurance; free fruit and coffee,physical, mental and financialhealth training, and much more!?
