Job description
We are seeking a highly motivated Embedded Software Engineer with strong expertise in Hardware-in-the-Loop (HIL) testing and National Instruments (NI) hardware/LabVIEW environments. The candidate will be responsible for developing, executing, and maintaining HIL test solutions for embedded systems, ensuring software and hardware integration meets customer and regulatory requirements. The role involves close collaboration with systems, software, and hardware engineering teams throughout the product development lifecycle., * Design, develop, and execute Hardware-in-the-Loop (HIL) test frameworks for embedded systems.
- Develop automated test scripts, test cases, and test procedures using LabVIEW and National Instruments platforms.
- Perform software verification and validation of embedded control systems.
- Integrate hardware, software, and simulation models into HIL test environments.
- Analyze test results, identify defects, perform root cause analysis, and support corrective actions.
- Develop and maintain test documentation, including test plans, procedures, reports, and traceability matrices.
- Support system integration, qualification, and acceptance testing activities.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure product quality and compliance with program requirements.
- Participate in troubleshooting, debugging, and performance evaluation of embedded systems.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Embedded Systems, or a related discipline.

- 3+ years of experience in embedded software testing or HIL testing.
- Hands-on experience with Hardware-in-the-Loop (HIL) test systems.
- Strong expertise with National Instruments (NI) hardware and LabVIEW development.
- Experience in test automation and software verification activities.
- Strong debugging and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Highly Desirable Qualifications
- Knowledge of MIL-STD-882E system safety processes.
- Experience with JSSSEH (Joint Software System Safety Engineering Handbook).
- Experience with Time Sensitive Networking (TSN) technologies and protocols.
- Familiarity with aerospace, defense, automotive, or mission-critical embedded systems.
- Understanding of systems engineering and software development lifecycle processes.
- Experience working in regulated environments requiring rigorous testing and compliance.
Preferred Skills
- Embedded C/C++ knowledge.
- Real-time operating systems (RTOS) experience.
- Test automation framework development.
- Requirements-based testing and traceability.
- Configuration management and defect tracking tools (e.g., Jira, Git).
