Designing Within Systems: Applying established design systems, components, patterns, tokens, variables, and responsive behaviors to create cohesive, scalable, production-ready Web and IVA experiences. Bridging Craft and Production: Translating creative intent into solutions that respect both the integrity of the brand experience and the realities of development-advocating for strong design while working responsibly within technical, accessibility, regulatory, system, and business requirements. Collaborating Cross-Functionally: Partnering with Art, Copy, Development, and fellow Experience Designers to ensure solutions are creatively aligned, technically feasible, and ready for implementation. Applying Design Judgment: Evaluating tradeoffs, resolving design challenges, incorporating feedback, and making informed execution decisions that balance creative intent, technical feasibility, and production quality. Mentoring Through Practice: Elevating fellow Experience Designers through collaboration, knowledge sharing, and leading by example.
Requirements
The Senior Experience Designer - Web/IVA is a seasoned, hands-on individual contributor operating at the intersection of design, technology, and brand across web and interactive visual aid (IVA) experiences. This role exists to translate creative vision into high-quality, production-ready digital experiences that balance brand expression, user experience, system integrity, and technical feasibility. Senior Experience Designers are trusted practitioners who operate with a high degree of autonomy, applying sound judgment and deep expertise to navigate complexity, solve execution challenges, and consistently deliver work that meets both creative intent and production requirements. They contribute strategically to execution while remaining deeply engaged in the craft-leading through expertise, influencing design direction, and ensuring quality from concept through implementation. Success in this role requires strong proficiency in Figma, including a working understanding of variables and design tokens, as well as demonstrated experience designing within code-aligned design systems. Senior Experience Designers collaborate closely with Art, Copy, Experience Architecture (UX), Development, and fellow Experience Designers to create scalable, brand-aware solutions that are creatively compelling, system-aligned, and technically sound. For Senior Experience Designers, these results are achieved by: Executing Work Independently: Owning projects from concept through delivery as a trusted individual contributor-working independently or alongside other practitioners based on project scope and complexity., The requirements listed below are representative of the experience, education, knowledge, skill and/or abilities required. Experience within pharmaceutical or other highly regulated industries. Demonstrated experience designing digital experiences within established design systems. Strong understanding of component-based design, responsive behavior, reusable patterns, and system-driven execution. Strong understanding of the relationship between experience design and front-end development, including the ability to design within technical constraints while advocating for design quality. Education Bachelor’s degree in Design, Digital Media, Human-Computer Interaction, or related field (or equivalent professional experience). Experience & Training 6+ years of experience in digital, motion, animation, or interactive design. Experience designing HTML media banners within pharmaceutical or other highly regulated industries. Experience contributing to or working within design systems. Experience collaborating cross-functionally with Art, Copy, Development, and other designers. Experience optimizing creative for performance marketing objectives. Technology Proficiency Advanced proficiency in Figma (required), including components, variants, Auto Layout, libraries, variables, and design tokens. Demonstrated ability to work efficiently within shared, component-based Figma libraries and established design systems. Working understanding of responsive design principles and how designs translate into front-end implementation. Familiarity with digital accessibility standards and their application to interface design. Core Competencies Systems thinker with strong attention to detail. Ability to translate strategy and creative vision into scalable execution. Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills. Clear, confident communicator who can articulate design rationale, constraints, tradeoffs, and recommendations across creative and technical audiences.
