Python Developer

This popular Cambridge start-up, backed by established industry gurus, are working at the leading edge. You’ll develop tools to monitor, analyse and verify the behaviour of a machine learning algorithm, also provide data analysis and improve performance. (Although there is no machine learning work in this position.)

It is envisaged that this role will need Python skills, however the team are open to other approaches hence seek a software developer with broad experience in numerous languages and an opinion on the best ones to use. They prefer engineers with a commercial background in C++ programming.

Each day their systems will process terabytes of new data, made up of video, image analytics etc. Experience with Docker and containerised application development and deployment is key. Other members of the team utilise the Hadoop ecosystem of tools or the AWS equivalents, so any knowledge of these is an advantage, but something you will pick up on the job.

As the Python Developer you will have solid maths skills which you have used in a commercial software role. This will be combined with a good understanding of software development principles and approaches. Fundamentals can be backed up by excellent grades and a top engineering degree from a well-known and respected university.
