You should have a good understanding of software development using at least one of C#, C++ or Java, and an interest in and/or knowledge of interfacing with embedded systems. These systems may be in a variety of application areas, from connected medical devices to industrial IoT systems to mobile communications in harsh environments. Primarily, you should be someone who enjoys serious technical challenge and who can produce solutions to novel technical problems. You may have some existing commercial experience; relevant internships are highly regarded.

With good interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate the technical aspects of your work confidently and authoritatively, this role calls for a solid academic record (1st / 2.1 from a leading university and top grade A levels) in Computer Science, Electronics Engineering or a related discipline.
