Job description

This is an excellent opportunity for a Software Engineer with some commercial industry exposure to enhance their career by joining a leading consultancy that will give them the scope and backing to explore new technologies.

They are currently looking for someone with a broad range of software skills to join their team working on pioneering software projects in healthcare. They are using technologies such as language processing, personalisation, sensing, analytics and individualised communication, to innovate patient-centric technologies which will help improve the efficiency of patient diagnosis and treatment.

You will be a self-motivated and positive person who enjoys taking on technical challenges. You may have found yourself in a software engineering position that uses your skills, but you are not getting the variety or the opportunity to stretch yourself as you had hoped. You may be coming to the end of a post-doc research position and have decided that you would now like to move into the commercial sector but would like to retain an element of research in your work. Either way, this could be your chance to join a multi-discipline team of skilled scientists and engineers intent on producing high quality, usable solutions that will have a positive real-world impact., Keywords: Software Engineer, Consultancy, C++, Python, C#, Language Processing, Analytics, South Cambridgeshire.

Requirements

  • A good technical degree from a well-respected university (2.1 or higher) backed by excellent grades at A-level
  • A broad background in software development and be highly skilled in at least one programming language such as C++, C# or Python
  • The ability to assess and pick the appropriate tool or language best suited for the task in hand
  • A curious mindset, initiative and the resilience to take on and complete complex challenges.

You will also need full rights to work in the UK without sponsorship or time limit.

Benefits & conditions

Our client is based in spacious offices located in pleasant surroundings in the south of Cambridgeshire. They offer a supportive and encouraging environment, together with a competitive salary and an excellent benefits package including generous pension contributions, private medical insurance and an annual profit related bonus.
