Job description

A leading technology and engineering consultancy is looking for experienced AWS Cloud Engineers to support critical National Security programmes. This is an opportunity to build, deploy and maintain cloud-based applications and services that contribute directly to protecting the UK.

Working within an autonomous DevOps team, you will collaborate closely with software engineers, end users and technical stakeholders throughout the full delivery lifecycle. You will help solve complex technical challenges, influence technology choices and develop secure, scalable solutions within AWS.

Requirements

  • Strong commercial experience working with AWS and solving complex technical challenges
  • Experience with a range of AWS services, potentially including EC2, ECS, EKS, S3, Lambda, RDS, KMS, ELB, SNS, SQS and IAM
  • Scripting experience using Python, Bash or Shell
  • Coding experience in at least one AWS Lambda-compatible language
  • Strong Infrastructure as Code experience using Terraform, CloudFormation or AWS CDK
  • Experience using version-control tools such as Git
  • Understanding of DevOps principles and the full software delivery lifecycle
  • Experience working within Agile environments such as Scrum, Kanban, SAFe or XP
  • Strong communication, collaboration and problem-solving skills
  • Willingness to learn new technologies and work across different project environments
  • Microservices and API design
  • Docker, Kubernetes, EKS or ECS
  • AWS monitoring, observability and FinOps
  • CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, Bamboo, TeamCity or Bitbucket
  • Candidates must be willing and eligible to obtain UK security clearance checks
