Skilled Hardware Engineer - Electronics

This highly skilled, friendly, and close-knit team in the south of Cambridgeshire specialise in creating and developing cutting-edge technology for the defence sector. With the team’s accelerated approach to design and development, they can avoid much of the delays usually associated with defence work.

They seek a skilled Hardware Engineer who has previously made significant technical contributions to the design and development of technology solutions, to play an integral part in the full product life cycle of their wide-ranging projects. Interfacing to high and low speed peripherals, running simulations and testbenches, as well as performing hardware-level debugging will be part of the day-to-day work, along with capture of requirements, design, prototyping, test and transfer to production. The variety of work and projects will be both intellectually stimulating and practically challenging.

An excellent academic background, including a good technical degree (2.1 or above) from a respected university and top grades at A level will be needed. Also, due to the defence related nature of the projects, only British citizens will be considered for this role as a high level of security clearance will be required.

They would like to hear from Hardware Engineers with at least two or more of the following attributes:

• Practical experience of working on systems integration.
• Experience with circuit design and schematic capture, ideally in Altium
• Familiar with working closely with Software Engineers on system architecture, interfaces and hardware procurement
• Harmonising conflicting system requirements using expert knowledge of component capabilities
