Security Design Engineer

As a Security Design Engineer, you will be responsible for producing technical designs and documentation for security systems across a range of commercial, residential, and critical infrastructure projects. You will work closely with project managers, estimators, and installation teams to ensure designs are accurate, compliant, and delivered on time. You will be joining an established company with a strong reputation for delivering high-quality security solutions to its customers., * Produce detailed security system designs using CAD and/or Revit in line with project specifications and client requirements.

• Design integrated security systems including CCTV, access control, and intruder detection across varied project types.
• Prepare technical documentation, schematics, and as-built drawings to support installation and commissioning teams.
• Liaise with project stakeholders to clarify design intent and ensure technical accuracy throughout the project lifecycle.
• Review and interpret client specifications, tender documents, and site surveys to inform design outputs.
• Ensure all designs comply with relevant British Standards, industry regulations, and best practice guidelines.

• Proven experience in a Security Design Engineer or similar technical design role within the security industry.
• Proficiency in CAD and/or Revit for the production of security system drawings and schematics.
• Solid understanding of security systems including CCTV, access control, and intruder alarm systems.
• Experience designing to relevant British Standards such as BS EN 50132, BS EN 50131, and BS 7799.
• Full UK driving licence (desirable for occasional site visits).
• FIA or BSIA membership or equivalent industry qualification (desirable).
