Intermediate Counterintelligence Officer (CIO)

Duties: Serve as Counterintelligence Officer (CIO); specific duties and functions include, but are not limited to, the following:

Conduct CI/Counter Terrorism (CT) investigations across the complex.

Work closely with the FBI and the USIC to assist in any ongoing espionage, terrorism, or related operations and investigations at responsible facilities.

Serve as liaison and interface with facility management and local law enforcement agencies surrounding the assigned facility.

Provide case-related updates to the Senior Counterintelligence Officer (SCIO), facilities senior management, and other CI executives.

Provide CI/CT defensive briefings and debriefings to Departmental personnel in foreign intelligence and terrorist activities/threats.

Serve as primary point of contact with scientific community departments within the complex for the purpose of proactively mitigating foreign intelligence and terrorist activities/threats.

Experience: Individual must have a minimum of ten (10) years’ experience as a CI Officer/agent conducting typical CI program activities to include CI inquiries and/or espionage investigations. Individual must have experience as a primary case agent in counterintelligence case management at DOE, the FBI or DOD and must have advanced interviewing and elicitation techniques.

Individual must have demonstrated evidence of excellent oral and written communication skills, conflict resolution techniques, and proven ability to perform under pressure to meet tight deadlines. Must have functional computer literacy and be proficient in common computer and network applications.

Education: Position requires individual to have earned a Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited university or college. A Master’s Degree is desirable.
