Job description

acuCyber is looking for a Software Engineer to lead the design, development, integration, testing, and sustainment of complex software applications and systems. This individual will translate operational and technical requirements into secure, scalable software solutions; develop and review application architectures; and support the full software development lifecycle. The Software Engineer III will apply modern Agile and DevSecOps practices, implement automated build and deployment processes, conduct code reviews, resolve complex technical issues, and provide technical guidance to software development teams and program stakeholders.

Requirements

  • Master’s degree in a quantitative discipline such as Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, Information Systems, Mathematics, or a closely related field. If the qualifying degree is in engineering, it must be from an ABET-accredited program.
  • At least 10 years of professional software engineering experience, including software design, development, integration, testing, and maintenance.
  • Demonstrated experience applying programming concepts, software engineering principles, data structures, algorithms, and object-oriented or functional design techniques.
  • Experience applying modern software development methodologies, including Agile, DevOps, or DevSecOps, in a professional or academic environment.
  • Current Agile Developer certification or Certified Scrum Developer certification.
  • Current certification satisfying IASAE Level II requirements.
  • Active TS/SCI Security Clearance

Desired Skills

  • Proficiency in one or more modern programming languages, such as Java, C++, C#, Python, JavaScript, or TypeScript.
  • Experience implementing CI/CD pipelines, automated builds, configuration management, source-code control, and automated deployment processes.
  • Knowledge of secure software development practices, application security testing, vulnerability remediation, and software supply-chain risk management.
  • Experience developing automated unit, integration, regression, performance, and security tests.
  • Experience with cloud-native applications, containers, microservices, APIs, distributed systems, or enterprise application architectures.
  • Experience leading technical teams, performing peer reviews, mentoring developers, and communicating software architecture and design decisions to technical and nontechnical stakeholders.
