Job description

AWS hardware Engineering is looking for a customer-obsessed, team-driven technology leader to take our engineering of server hardware and software to the next level. As a cloud server performance engineer, you’ll work on Amazon’s hardest problems, building high quality, architecturally sound systems that meet or exceed the high performance bar, with focus on high speed interconnects, including PCIe. You will interact with internal and external interdisciplinary teams of engineers to design, develop, validate, launch, monitor and troubleshoot high throughput interfaces at scale. You will be on the team that is responsible for PCIe topology for the EC2 servers, including retimer and switch firmware and telemetry. This is a fast-paced, intellectually challenging position. Requirements

  • 5+ years of programming with at least one modern language such as C++, C#, Java, Python, Golang, PowerShell, Ruby experience
  • 5+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
  • 5+ years of designing or architecting (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience
  • 5+ years of systems design, software development, operations, automation, and process improvement experience
  • 5+ years of experience identifying & root-causing hardware/software system issues in large scale systems
  • 5+ years of experience writing and implementing functional and performance tests for manufacturing and in field coverage, including telemetry
  • 5+ year of experience with customer support for successive debugging/root-causing bus interconnect failures, * Knowledge of engineering practices and patterns for the full software/hardware/networks development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, certification, and livesite operations
  • Experience taking a leading role in building complex software or computing infrastructure that has been successfully delivered to customers
  • 5+ years of experience with high speed interconnect, including PCIe
  • 5+ years of experience with CPU and memory architectures, system performance, security and troubleshooting
  • 5+ years experience with statistical analysis using large scale data

The base pay for this position ranges from $136,100/year in our lowest geographic market up to $235,200/year in our highest geographic market.
