Head of Applications Engineering (AI Products)

• Build and grow a high-calibre team of senior engineers
• Define architecture for AI-powered workflows, APIs, and client applications
• Translate ML capabilities into reliable, production-ready product features
• Drive technical decisions across scalability, latency, reliability, security, and cost
• Establish clear ownership across engineering teams and maintain architectural consistency
• Ensure production excellence through observability, monitoring, retries, fallbacks, privacy, and operational best practices
• Balance rapid product delivery with long-term engineering quality

• Proven experience leading application or product engineering teams
• Strong hands-on backend engineering background with large-scale production systems
• Experience building and shipping AI-powered products
• Deep expertise in distributed systems, APIs, system architecture, and product engineering
• Ability to make technical decisions under ambiguity
• Comfortable working across backend, mobile, and desktop environments
• Strong execution mindset with a passion for shipping high-quality products
• Low ego, collaborative leadership style, and high technical standards
