Job description

The IT Engineer I - Wireless & AI Operations provides foundational support for enterprise wireless networking and AI-assisted IT operations under established procedures and senior guidance. This role assists with the deployment, monitoring, maintenance, and troubleshooting of Cisco Meraki cloud-managed wireless environments across corporate offices, manufacturing facilities, distribution centers, and field locations.

The position supports an automation-first operating model by leveraging AI-powered analytics, monitoring platforms, workflow automation, and intelligent operational tools to improve network performance, reliability, security, and user experience. The engineer assists with operational data collection, reporting, automation activities, AI solution adoption, and continuous improvement initiatives while developing expertise in wireless networking, cloud-managed infrastructure, and AI-assisted infrastructure operations., * Assist with deployment, configuration, and monitoring of Cisco Meraki cloud-managed wireless access points and networks under guidance.

  • Support wireless performance monitoring, RF optimization, and Wi-Fi troubleshooting, including the use of AI/ML-driven network analytics.
  • Assist with data preparation, feature work, and model integration tasks.
  • Support deployment, monitoring, and validation of AI/ML services under guidance.
  • Maintain documentation, datasets, and operational records.
  • Escalate issues that exceed defined scope.
  • Participate in learning and post-incident activities.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities

  • Wireless networking fundamentals - RF concepts, 802.11/Wi-Fi 6/6E standards, access point deployment, and basic Wi-Fi troubleshooting
  • Foundational AI, Agentic AI, ML and data-handling concepts
  • Python and basic scripting
  • Operational discipline and documentation
  • Awareness of responsible AI and model security
  • Learning from runbooks and guidance
  • Collaboration and communication
  • Cisco Meraki Dashboard administration and cloud-managed wireless monitoring

Requirements

  • Associate’s degree or up to 3 years of college or technical school required
  • 1 to up to 3 years of relevant work experience, * Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Systems, or a related technical field.
  • Training in wireless networking fundamentals, including RF principles, Wi-Fi technologies and standards (802.11), wireless security, and Cisco Meraki cloud-managed network administration, monitoring, and troubleshooting.
  • Foundational knowledge of automation technologies, scripting, and AI-assisted operational tools used to improve infrastructure management, service delivery, operational efficiency, and problem resolution.
  • Exposure to generative AI technologies, AI-powered analytics platforms, intelligent assistants, and workflow automation tools used within enterprise IT environments.
  • Understanding of data governance, information management, responsible AI practices, cybersecurity principles, and operational documentation standards.
  • Familiarity with cloud platforms, monitoring systems, IT service management processes, and the operational support of AI-enabled business and infrastructure solutions.

Work Environment

  • Office-based work with occasional lifting of up to 50 pounds
  • Must be able to work a minimum of 4 days a week in Charlotte, NC at our corporate office.
