Job description
The Seat Complete Engineer will be responsible for designing, developing, and delivering vehicle seating systems. This includes ensuring that seats meet Regulatory, Safety, Comfort and Packaging requirmeents. The role involves working across different departments and managing the seat product from the initial concept through to production., Develop and/or integrate seat structures, seat components, foam, trim and full seat systems. Handle product release lifecycle: create and maintain BOMs, manage design revisions using change management systems. Ensure successful integration of the seat system in the vehicle. Develop DVPRs and support both prototype and production builds. Analyze problems, lead root cause and troubleshooting on design and manufacturing issues. Implement interim and permanent corrective actions to design and manufacturing issues. Work closely with suppliers on the design, quality and delivery of seat parts. Collaborate with design, manufacturing, and quality teams to meet project goals. Oversee the full life of the seat product from concept, through production, to end-of-life. Make sure all designs meet regulations, safety, comfort and packaging requirements. Drive weight and cost reduction initiatives. Requirements
Bachelor’s Degree in Mechatronics Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or Mechanical Engineering from an ABET-accredited university. Minimum of 5+ years of engineering experience in the automotive industry. Demonstrated leadership skills, ability to work autonomously, excellent communication skills, positive attitude, willingness to learn, flexibility, team-player, and attention to detail. Familiarity with seat complete integration and components. Understanding of components and physical integration in vehicle. Familiarity with FMVSS and ECE requirements. CAD Skills: Skilled in 3D modeling software (e.g., Teamcenter/NX). Design quality methods such as DFMEA to identify and prevent potential issues early. Experience with global project management and leading cross-functional teams.
