Job description

In this role, you will help design, build, and enhance mission-critical services that support event enrichment, detection, correlation, stream processing, and pipeline orchestration at massive scale. Working at the edge of cloud-native system limits, you will tackle challenging distributed systems problems and contribute to the ongoing evolution of our platform as we continue to scale performance, flexibility, and detection effectiveness in an increasingly sophisticated, AI-driven threat landscape.

About The Team

Arctic Wolf’s R&D organization builds the systems that power our security operations platform. The Real-Time Processing Platform Team is responsible for many of the core systems used to enrich, process, correlate, and analyze data that drives detection and analytics across the platform.

You will be part of a team working on foundational systems that directly impact multiple areas of the platform, helping ensure reliability, data quality, and adaptability as requirements evolve.

The team works closely with threat researchers, detection engineers, and security experts across Arctic Wolf. We build the platforms, frameworks, and real-time processing engines that transform security expertise into scalable detections, enabling security experts to express increasingly sophisticated detection logic at scale while helping Arctic Wolf identify and respond to threats across trillions of events per day.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and enhance core components of Arctic Wolf’s real-time detection and event processing platform.
  • Build and evolve large-scale distributed systems that process and analyze trillions of events per day in near real-time.
  • Develop capabilities across event processing systems, detection frameworks, event correlation platforms, and stream-processing infrastructure.
  • Solve complex engineering challenges related to scalability, reliability, performance, latency, throughput, and cost efficiency in cloud-native environments.
  • Contribute to the architecture and technical direction of next-generation platform capabilities.
  • Deliver high-quality, production-ready software and operate systems at massive scale.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to continuously improve platform effectiveness and operational excellence.
  • Mentor and support other developers while fostering a culture of ownership, quality, and continuous improvement.

Requirements

  • 5-10+ years of professional software development experience.
  • Proven experience designing, building, and operating complex distributed systems at scale.
  • Strong background in real-time data processing architectures and high-throughput systems.
  • Experience delivering production systems end-to-end and driving complex technical initiatives with a high degree of autonomy.
  • Strong programming skills in one or more languages such as Golang, Python, or Java.
  • Experience building and deploying services in cloud environments such as AWS, Azure, or GCP.
  • Proficiency with modern containerized technologies, including Docker and Kubernetes.
  • Comfortable working within microservices architectures and CI/CD environments.
  • Experience with technologies such as Apache Kafka, Apache Flink, Spark, Redpanda, RabbitMQ, SQS, or similar event-streaming and messaging platforms is an asset.
  • Exposure to cybersecurity, observability, telemetry, or other data-intensive platforms is preferred.
  • Passionate about building high-quality software and solving complex engineering problems at extreme scale.
  • Interested in working at the intersection of large-scale data systems and cybersecurity.
