Job description

The Grant Process & Application Specialist oversees the administrative and compliance processes necessary for preparing and submitting grant applications. This position coordinates internal workflows, interprets Request for Proposal (RFP) requirements to identify procedural needs, and guides project leads in assembling required documentation. The role independently resolves non-routine process issues, identifies gaps or inconsistencies in application materials, and ensures applications meet compliance and submission standards.

As the primary liaison between internal departments and the internal grant writer, the specialist supports the development of complete, accurate submissions aligned with institutional and funder requirements. The position manages internal timelines, facilitates the review and approval process, and maintains accurate records. It also oversees the college’s grant tracking systems to ensure data accuracy, completeness, and alignment with application activity.

The role serves as a central resource for staff participating in grant development and applies established procedures to provide guidance, support consistent adherence to deadlines, and maintain the integrity of the grant application process.

Regular on campus presence is expected for all LCC employment. Any flexible work schedules and/or hybrid work schedules approved by the College are subject to change based on the needs of the LCC community.

LCC policy requires all LCC employees to be residents of the State of Michigan and to perform all work (with limited exceptions) within the State of Michigan.

Final candidates will be subject to a criminal background check as part of the employment process.
