Job description

No two days are the same for a Technology Support Analyst. From resolving technical challenges and supporting Microsoft 365 services to configuring devices and helping users get the most from technology, this role sits at the heart of a busy technology function. The Technology Support Analyst will bring strong technical knowledge, excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to communicate solutions clearly.

As a Technology Support Analyst, you’ll provide first and second line support across the Motor Neurone Disease (MND) Association, ensuring colleagues and volunteers can access the technology, systems and services they need. You’ll work across Microsoft 365, communication platforms, user administration and device support, delivering a responsive and reliable service.

Main Responsibilities

  • Provide first and second line technical support to employees and volunteers
  • Resolve incidents, requests and problems within agreed service levels
  • Provide advice and training to office staff, regional staff, and volunteers, on various software packages, office systems, cloud platforms, digital services, operating systems, printers, and telephony
  • Configure, maintain and support Microsoft 365 services and Windows environments
  • Support communication systems, telephony services and mobile devices
  • Set up, induct and offboard users, ensuring appropriate system access
  • Configure and maintain laptop devices, including patch management
  • Effectively support users with varying levels of technical knowledge
  • Escalate issues to specialist teams and third-party providers when required
  • Contribute to the service desk knowledge base and technology improvement activities

Requirements

  • Experience in a Technology Support Analyst or similar IT support role
  • Working knowledge of Windows operating systems, ADS, DNS, DHCP and Group Policy
  • Experience supporting Microsoft Exchange and Microsoft 365 applications
  • Experience supporting, maintaining and configuring Windows Server environments
  • Working knowledge of communication systems and mobile telephony
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
  • Experience of delivering support, advice and training to end users with varied IT literacy
  • Excellent organisation skills with the ability to prioritise competing demands
  • Strong customer service skills and an empathetic approach to supporting users
  • Ability to be flexible in working hours in required

Hybrid working Expectations: 3 day per week Northampton office attendance
