Job description

As a Senior Engineer, you will join a team of engaged and dedicated engineers who are working to design, build and govern integration platform. You will interact closely with Architects, Product Owners, Operations engineers and other Developers. Together with us you will be supporting and taking data streaming initiative design, build, offer solution to DNB, troubleshoot and maintain integration platform. Help other teams getting onboarded on integration platform, suggesting application frameworks, APIs, data streams and other integrations solution which best fit according to the needs.

You’ll participate in everything from concept till production. We focus on creating the best self-service enabled platform and contribute to best practices and knowledge sharing internally as well as externally. In this position, you will play a significant role in exploring, defining, and scaling our future data streams platform.

Requirements

We are looking for engineer with a growth mindset who inspire colleagues and external partners, with a mix of humbleness, but also can take the lead. You are passionate about technology and have a strong interest in learning about and playing with new technologies. But almost equally important is your ability to be a good team player and that you understand the need to cooperate with others to reach great results., We are looking for skilled person with strong knowledge towards distributed systems management using Kubernetes, data streaming technologies i.e., Kafka, Flink. You should have strong skills in designing, building, and maintaining sync and async interfaces. We prefer that you have completed higher technical education, but we also acknowledge that extensive relevant experience may make up for this. You must be fluent in English (both oral and written). Norwegian skills are a plus., * 5-10 years of experience in software engineering, platform engineering, or data integration, with hands-on delivery of distributed and event-driven systems.

  • Hands-on experience with Deploy and configure scalable infrastructure environments for Apache / Confluent Flink and Kafka.
  • Experience with stream-processing frameworks for building real-time data pipelines, stateful processing, event-time processing, windowing, joins, fault tolerance, and exactly-once processing patterns.
  • Experience in platform engineering, contributing to platform standards, reusable templates, self-service onboarding, developer enablement, governance and best-practice guidance for event-streaming solutions.
  • Experience with Flink SQL/stream-processing patterns, use cases such as enrichment, aggregation, fraud detection, and operational analytics.
  • Strong practical experience with Apache Kafka, including topic design, producer and consumer patterns, schema management, consumer groups, partitioning, replication, monitoring, troubleshooting, and secure operations.
  • Experience deploying and operating platform components on Kubernetes, including StatefulSets, Helm, operators, resource management, scaling, and production troubleshooting.
  • Experience working with public cloud platforms such as AWS and Azure, preferably with managed streaming, container, networking, secrets, and observability services.
  • Strong understanding of data-streaming security, including TLS, SASL, ACLs, RBAC, certificate handling, secrets management, network policies, and access-control models.
  • Solid development experience in Java, Python, .NET, or similar languages, with the ability to build robust streaming applications, platform automation, APIs, and integration services.
  • Good knowledge of Infrastructure as Code and GitOps practices; we run everything as code.

The Integration and Identity Tech Family

The Integration and identity Family is responsible for the integration platforms, architecture and governance across DNB. This includes building a Hybrid Integration Platform for synchronous and asynchronous integration, defining and governing the API and Event-based integration guidelines and patterns, and performing integration solution architecture for business-driven initiatives. We have for a while been on a journey to encapsulate our legacy systems into standardized and reusable REST API services and are now adding event-based integration patterns, using streaming technologies like Kafka as a centralized DNB Multi-cloud Event Hub.

Multi-cloud tech strategy is to gradually off-load and replace our on-premises legacy platforms and systems. Integration Platforms have a vital role in this journey.
