Job description

In this key leadership role, you will oversee the design, development, implementation, and maintenance of critical Court applications. You will guide a team of developers, collaborate with stakeholders across the organization, and ensure that our technology solutions are secure, scalable, user-focused, and aligned with the Court’s strategic goals.

We are looking for a leader who brings both technical expertise and strong management skills-someone who can mentor staff, drive innovation, and deliver high-quality applications that enhance the user experience for both internal and public-facing systems

DEFINITION

Under general direction, plans, schedules, assigns, reviews, supervises, and participates in the work of staff providing information technology services within the Court Information Technology Department; supervises technical services and operations, systems administration, applications development and maintenance, computer systems operations and support, network design and maintenance, database analysis and administration, and network and application security as assigned; coordinates assigned activities with other Court departments and outside agencies; and performs related duties as assigned.

SUPERVISION RECEIVED AND EXERCISED

Receives general direction from assigned management personnel. Exercises direct supervision over professional and technical staff.

CLASS CHARACTERISTICS

This is the full supervisory-level class in the Information Technology series that exercises independent judgment on diverse and specialized information technology services and programs, with accountability and ongoing decision-making responsibilities associated with the work. Incumbents are responsible for planning, organizing, supervising, reviewing, and evaluating the work of assigned staff; ensuring the efficient functioning of computer systems, networks, and software applications, and providing technical support to end-users; and are responsible for providing professional level support to management in a variety of areas. Performance of the work requires the use of independence, initiative, and discretion within established guidelines and scope of practice.

Requirements

Do you have a valid Driver’s License license?, Do you have experience in Team management?, Do you have a Bachelor’s degree?, Any combination of training and experience that would provide the required knowledge, skills, and abilities is qualifying. A typical way to obtain the required qualifications would be: Education:

  • Equivalent to bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university with major coursework in information technology management, computer science, or related fields.

Experience:

  • Five (5) years of increasingly responsible experience in technology hardware, software, and/or system design, development, integration, and support, including one (1) year in a lead or supervisory capacity.

Licenses and Certifications:

  • Possession of a valid California Driver’s License, a satisfactory driving record, and a properly registered and insured vehicle, to be maintained throughout employment.
