Job description

The Air Traffic Control and Weather Systems Group is developing a range of advanced aviation weather and decision support technologies to improve air transportation safety, efficiency, and cyber-resiliency. The candidate will participate on a product development team and support multiple aspects of the project, including designing and implementing algorithms and graphical user interfaces, engineering real-time systems, testing components, and documenting software. Prototype software development is an important aspect of our work. The successful candidate will participate on a product development team and may support multiple aspects of a project, including design and implementation of algorithms and graphical user interfaces, engineering of real-time software systems, testing of software components, assisting with software hardening for technology transition to external users.

Requirements

  • MS in Computer Science or related STEM discipline, or a BS with 5+ years of relevant work experience
  • Proficiency in one or more of the following software languages: Python, C/C++, Java, JavaScript, MATLAB
  • Proficiency in web and/or graphical user interface development frameworks/libraries: React, Vue.js
  • Experience with virtualized software environments
  • Experience with software containerization and orchestration technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes)
  • Experience with modern software DevSecOps pipelines
  • Strong communication and teaming skills

Desired Skills:

  • Cloud-based software architectures and deployments
  • Proficiency working with Python-based AI and machine learning software packages: NumPy, Tensorflow, Keras, PyTorch, Scikit-learn

Benefits & conditions

Recent Graduate Hiring Range: $116,400 - $140,000

Experienced Hiring Range: $116,400 - $182,200
