Job description
The Web Developer designs, develops, maintains, and updates organizational websites, web content, and digital products supporting USARCENT public affairs activities. This position ensures all websites and digital content are functional, accessible, accurate, current, and consistent with organizational standards, security requirements, and approved public affairs guidance. Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, maintain, and update organizational websites and web-based products.
- Create and manage digital content supporting USARCENT public affairs objectives.
- Develop responsive and user-friendly web pages using HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
- Manage, publish, and update content through approved content management systems (CMS).
- Ensure web content is accurate, current, accessible, and consistent with organizational branding and communication standards.
- Test websites and digital products for functionality, usability, accessibility, compatibility, and performance.
- Identify and resolve broken links, formatting issues, technical errors, and other website problems.
- Ensure websites and digital content comply with applicable security requirements, organizational policies, and approved public affairs guidance.
- Coordinate with public affairs personnel, content owners, technical teams, and other stakeholders to gather requirements and implement updates.
- Support the development and publication of online communications, graphics, multimedia content, and other digital products.
- Maintain website documentation, content inventories, update schedules, and quality-control procedures.
- Protect sensitive information and ensure only authorized and approved content is published.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Web Development, Information Technology, Communications, or a related field.
- Minimum of three years of professional web development experience.
- Demonstrated experience with HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
- Experience managing and publishing content through content management systems.
- Ability to develop and maintain functional, responsive, accessible, and user-friendly websites.
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple web content requirements.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with technical and nontechnical stakeholders.
- Must possess an active Secret security clearance.
Preferred Qualification
- Web development certification or related technical certification.
