Job description

Kforce has a client that is seeking a Linux Systems Administrator in Miami, FL (Florida)., We are seeking a Linux Systems Administrator with High-Performance Computing (HPC) experience to support research computing environments and computational clusters. This role will focus on Linux administration, HPC scheduling, AI-related infrastructure, storage systems, software deployment, system performance optimization, and end-user support. The ideal candidate will have experience managing large-scale Linux environments, supporting research applications, and maintaining HPC infrastructure., * Administer and support Linux-based computational and HPC clusters

  • Manage HPC job schedulers, including Slurm
  • Install, configure, test, and maintain operating systems, software, patches, and research applications
  • Monitor system performance and perform tuning to optimize reliability and efficiency
  • Support AI computing environments and related infrastructure
  • Manage and maintain storage systems, SAN infrastructure, InfiniBand switches, network switches, server racks, and power infrastructure
  • Support parallel file systems and enterprise storage technologies
  • Troubleshoot server, operating system, storage, and application issues
  • Provide technical support and resolve end-user service requests
  • Maintain documentation and follow operational best practices for system administration and infrastructure management

Requirements

  • Experience administering Linux server environments
  • Experience supporting HPC or computational computing clusters
  • Experience working with HPC job schedulers, preferably Slurm
  • Experience installing, upgrading, patching, and maintaining Linux systems and applications
  • Knowledge of storage infrastructure, networking, and server hardware
  • Strong troubleshooting and performance tuning skills, * Experience supporting AI clusters or AI-focused infrastructure
  • Experience with parallel file systems
  • Experience supporting research or scientific computing environments
  • Knowledge of SAN, InfiniBand, and high-performance networking technologies

The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.

We offer comprehensive benefits including medical/dental/vision insurance, HSA, FSA, 401(k), and life, disability & ADD insurance to eligible employees. Salaried personnel receive paid time off. Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
