Job description
Blu Omega is seeking a Manual Tester to support a federal program focused on veteran benefits. This role operates within a remote environment and is responsible for executing manual testing activities to ensure software quality and functionality. The position requires experience supporting software testing within regulated environments., * Review requirements, user stories, acceptance criteria, and design documentation to understand expected system behavior and testing needs.
- Develop and execute manual test cases, test scenarios, and test plans based on functional and business requirements.
- Perform functional, system, integration, regression, and user acceptance testing (UAT).
- Identify, document, and track defects using tools such as Jira, Azure DevOps, or similar platforms.
- Validate defect fixes through retesting and regression testing to ensure issues are resolved prior to release.
- Collaborate with developers, QA teams, business analysts, and stakeholders to clarify requirements and resolve issues.
- Maintain clear and accurate documentation of testing activities, results, defects, and resolution status.
- Support continuous improvement of testing processes, documentation, and quality standards.
- Participate in Agile/Scrum ceremonies and collaborate effectively across cross-functional delivery teams.
Requirements
- 2+ years of experience in manual testing, quality assurance, or software testing.
- Understanding of software testing methodologies and SDLC/STLC.
- Hands-on experience developing and executing test cases, test scenarios, and test plans.
- Experience performing functional, regression, integration, system, and UAT.
- Experience using defect and issue tracking tools such as Jira, Azure DevOps, or similar.
- Strong attention to detail, analytical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively within Agile/Scrum environments.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field, or equivalent professional experience., * Experience supporting federal government programs or regulated environments.
- Familiarity with Jira and Confluence.
- Basic understanding of APIs, web services, databases, and backend systems.
- Exposure to test automation concepts, frameworks, or tools.
- Experience with usability and accessibility testing, including Section 508 or WCAG standards.
Benefits & conditions
Salary Range: $52,000.00 - $58,000.00
