Job description

The GIS Analyst will provide support to the GIS team in the advancement of NTTA’s enterprise Geographic Information System (GIS) across the organization. In support of the organization’s goals, the GIS Analyst works with internal customers in identifying opportunities to leverage GIS technologies in their specific workflows. This position will troubleshoot issues and provide, * Provides geospatial solutions for internal business stakeholders including developing reports, maps, and other analyses to create a concise visual or spatial representation of complex information and ideas.

  • Produces and updates web maps and web mapping applications using ArcGIS Enterprise.
  • Completes documentation for geospatial data and GIS processes and assists in developing, implementing, and maintaining geospatial data & process governance.
  • Performs QA/QC on transportation related spatial data.
  • Performs spatial analysis and creates specialized informational products from the GIS related software and subsystems.
  • Performs asset data creation, maintenance, and onboarding into NTTA’s enterprise asset management solution.
  • Provides training and support to GIS end users.
  • Performs scheduled maintenance to GIS servers & technology systems at night or on weekends, minimizing impact to users.
  • Maintains and continually enhances knowledge of GIS functionality, principles, and practices.

Requirements

M inimum:

  • Bachelor’s degree in GIS, Geography, Computer Science, or a closely related field.
  • At minimum 1 year of relevant working experience in GIS.
  • Experience using ArcGIS Pro as primary desktop software.
  • Experience working in the ArcGIS Enterprise suite of products.
  • Experience editing data in ESRI enterprise geodatabases.
  • Experience performing QA/QC on spatial data, web maps, and web applications.
  • Experience with image interpretation and feature extraction from imagery.

Preferred:

  • Master’s degree in GIS, Geography, Computer Science, or a closely related field.
  • Experience with the collection of transportation & utility assets.
  • Familiarity with converting CAD & survey data to GIS formats.
  • Familiarity with using GPS/GNSS technologies.
  • Familiarity with linear referencing systems.
  • Familiarity with programming languages such as: Java, SQL, & Python
