Job description

This position serves as a Test & Evaluation Engineer contractor supporting the Advanced Fires Project Office (AFPO) and is based in Huntsville, AL., * Provide technical and programmatic support to Military and Government Civilian customers in an Army Project Office that manages multiple fast-paced weapon systems’ development and flight testing simultaneously.

  • Productive collaboration and relationships within the Project Office and with prime contractors, Test Range staff, external agencies, and stakeholders.
  • Develop presentations, support milestone reviews (entrance and exit criteria) and working groups, record and track action items, and develop notes/meeting minutes.
  • Test Range planning and coordination to include development of required documentation, identification of Program requirements, and Range scheduling.
  • Review, attend, assess prime contractor efforts. Provide prime contractor in-plant and Test Range on-site flight test execution support, and report findings and status by publishing Daily Status Reports for leadership and answering questions. Ability to be member of the Test Execution Team (on-console support).
  • Identify potential Army system issues and defects by performing tests on the system’s features.
  • Flight test experience at White Sands Missile Range (WSMR), Pacific Missile Range Facility (PMRF), Point Mugu Sea Range (PMSR), Pacific Spaceport Complex Alaska (PSCA), and Eglin Test and Training Range (ETTR). Desired experience at Dugway Proving Ground and Yuma Proving Ground.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree (or higher) in technical field (STEM).
  • 15 years Test and Evaluation experience.
  • Excellent written, verbal and presentation skills.
  • Ability to take initiative and work independently and/or lead teams to analyze and resolve problems.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Must be able to travel up to 25% of the time. Primarily CONUS travel, but OCONUS may be required.

Clearance

Ability to obtain and maintain Top Secret clearance.
