Job description
The Cybersecurity Specialist is responsible for integrating security architecture and engineering efforts throughout the information technology life cycle to ensure the development and sustainment of secure systems and infrastructure. This role supports the design, implementation, integration, maintenance, and continuous improvement of software, hardware, and technical environments by embedding security concepts, controls, and mechanisms into system architecture and development processes. Responsibilities may include technical planning, system design, integration, verification and validation, and ensuring compliance with cybersecurity policies, standards, and customer requirements.
This position works to achieve key project and program objectives while managing projects or processes that span multiple technical disciplines. The Cybersecurity Specialist analyzes and resolves complex technical and security challenges impacting multiple systems or operational areas and develops innovative solutions to enhance system security and performance. The role requires strong technical expertise, analytical problem-solving skills, and the ability to collaborate across engineering, operations, and program teams to deliver secure and reliable solutions that support mission and organizational objectives., * Delivering timely and accurate development of cyber artifacts needed for the program
- Lead cybersecurity efforts for specific software development and engineering projects
- Develop the cybersecurity requirements to be included in and allocated to the product baseline(s)
- Assess, document, and report on the cybersecurity posture of various systems.
- Develop and implement cyber mitigation strategies in response to identified vulnerabilities
- Managing the cybersecurity policies, best practices, controls, and technologies used to secure applications, data, and infrastructure in cloud environments
- Creating a framework for integrating security measures and controls into the design and implementation of a software solution
- Identifying and prioritizing potential threats to a system, application, or organization
- Accurately monitor, track, and report on cybersecurity project status to internal and external stakeholders
- Conduct scans to ensure compliance with vulnerability management and DISA STIGs
- Ability to utilize and configure IA scanning tools such as Nessus and SCAP scanning tools

Requirements
Nessus ICD 503 Equities Operations Leadership Innovation Mitigation Market Data Multitasking Communication Collaboration Cyber Security Prioritization Problem Solving Ancient History Agile Methodology Cyber Engineering Project Management Software Development Systems Architecture Atlassian Confluence CompTIA Certification Information Technology Cyber Security Policies IT Security Architecture Vulnerability Management Risk Management Framework IAT Level II Certification Verification And Validation Enterprise Planning Systems Continuous Improvement Process Certified Information Systems Security Professional, * Bachelor’s degree with 8+ years of prior relevant experience. Additional years of experience will be accepted in lieu of degree.
- Experience managing RMF artifacts and maintaining system ATOs and IATTs
- 3+ years of experience applying the Risk Management Framework (ICD 503) for accreditation of DoD
- Demonstrated experience in cybersecurity analysis, accreditation processes, compliance systems, and RMF execution.
- Able to multi-task, manage a team of cyber engineers, and function in a dynamic, fast-paced environment
- Excellent organizational and communication skills
- US citizenship and current secret clearance
- Demonstrated experience supporting or managing complex, multi-disciplinary programs
- Top Secret/SCI Clearance is requited, * Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP)
- Experience with the Atlassian toolset (JIRA, Confluence)
- One or more DoD Manual 8570 IAT II/III certifications prior to start, such as CompTIA Security+
- Experience supporting DoD customers
- Knowledge of agile development methodologies and management, Vandalia, OH*On-Site
