Job description
As part of our team, you will actively develop products in an international environment, where experienced people will help you further develop your skills and advance in your career. You will work for X10 FAA project which is Frequentis’ innovative voice communication solution based on a state-of-the-art service-oriented architecture, facilitating the transition of pure ATM-based voice communications to Unified Aeronautical Communications for the FAA (Federal Aviation Administration). Operating on the Frequentis MosaiX platform, it can easily be integrated with other technologies from the Frequentis portfolio to deliver strong operational benefits. Key Tasks
- Design, implement, and maintain load testing frameworks for microservices-based applications
- Create and execute performance, load, stress, spike, and endurance tests
- Simulate realistic user traffic and system usage patterns across distributed services
- Define scalability test scenarios based on expected business growth and production workloads
- Identify performance bottlenecks in microservices, APIs, databases, messaging systems, and infrastructure.
- Monitor system behavior under load, including CPU, memory, network, disk I/O, and container resources
- Analyze service response times, throughput, latency, error rates, and resource utilization
- Validate horizontal and vertical scaling mechanisms (Kubernetes, auto-scaling groups, cloud-native scaling)
- Verify system stability and resilience during peak traffic conditions.
- Test scalability of service-to-service communication and message queues.
- Establish and maintain performance KPIs, SLAs, and scalability targets.
- Integrate automated performance tests into CI/CD pipelines
- Configure and enhance observability solutions (RabitMQ, Grafana, ELK, etc.).
- Produce performance reports and recommendations for architecture improvements
- Support root-cause analysis of performance issues found during testing or production incidents
- Evaluate the scalability impact of new features before release
- Continuously improve load testing methodologies, tooling, and automation

Requirements
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field.
- 5+ years of experience in DevOps, Site Reliability Engineering (SRE), Performance Engineering, or a similar role.
- Strong scripting skills using Python, Bash, PowerShell, or similar languages
- Strong understanding of microservices architectures, REST APIs, and distributed systems
- Experience with Kubernetes, Docker, and containerized environments
- Experience with K6, Gatling, Artillery or similar load test tools.
- Familiarity with distributed databases, message brokers, and key-value stores (e.g., Apache Cassandra, RabbitMQ, etcd, or comparable technologies) is highly desirable.
- Knowledge of auto-scaling, high-availability, and fault-tolerant system design principle
- Experience analyzing application and infrastructure performance metrics
- IP networking know-how
- Practical experience with CI/CD, and automation to improve efficiency in day-to-day development
- Familiar with cloud-native concepts including experience with service-oriented architecture and infrastructure as code solutions
- Positive mindset towards DevOps, agility, and teamwork
- Openness to new technologies and willingness to learn niche technologies used in safety-critical environments
- Willingness to work with cross-cultural teams in a safety-critical environment
- Good English skills (both written and spoken)
