Job description

This position is part of the AWS Specialist and Partner Organization (ASP). Specialists own the end-to-end go-to-market strategy for their respective technology domains, providing the business and technical expertise to help our customers succeed. Partner teams own the strategy, recruiting, development, and growth of our key technology and consulting partners. Together they provide our customers with the expertise and scale needed to build innovative solutions for their most complex challenges.

As a Software Development Engineer on the AWS Marketplace Engineering team, you will design, build, and maintain core components of the AWS Marketplace platform. You will create high-performance, secure, and scalable systems that transform how buyers and sellers engage with cloud solutions across AWS.

You will own critical aspects of the AWS Marketplace platform, including:

  • Buyer & Seller Experiences
  • Building intuitive: Interfaces for product discovery, pricing, subscriptions, and deployment workflows.
  • Integration Frameworks: Developing APIs and services that connect AWS Marketplace with AWS products, partner ecosystems, and third-party platforms.
  • Marketplace Automation: Creating tools for product listing approvals, compliance checks, and automated billing/payout systems.
  • Performance & Reliability: Ensuring the platform handles millions of transactions daily with low latency and high availability.
  • Security & Compliance: Implementing safeguards for data integrity, payment processing, and regulatory compliance (e.g., GDPR, SOC 2).

While building mission-critical marketplace systems, you’ll simultaneously drive the team’s evolution toward AI-empowered development practices.

Technical Leadership & Delivery:

  • Lead projects by orchestrating teams of engineers to deliver features through rapid iteration cycles
  • Own architecture decisions for partner-facing systems
  • Drive technical design as living specifications that evolve with implementation, ensuring continuous stakeholder alignment
  • Build secured, highly available, performant systems on native AWS services

AI Transformation Leadership:

  • Demonstrate and evangelize advanced AI-assisted development practices where AI handles significant portions of the development lifecycle
  • Drive adoption of spec-driven development, ensuring work starts with executable specifications validated by stakeholders before implementation
  • Mentor team members on AI-assisted workflows, prompt engineering excellence, and progression toward higher levels of AI-empowered development
  • Participate in continuous improvement rituals identifying constraints across the development lifecycle and resolving them quickly
  • Champion AI-first approaches for operational excellence work, using intelligent tools before manual intervention
  • Shift focus from code generation to code verification, leveraging AI for quality validation and automated testing

A day in the life You begin by reviewing initiative progress, then use AI to automate module implementation while focusing on security and testing. You mentor a teammate on advanced prompting techniques. In team meetings, you analyze metrics showing faster deployments but spot system complexity issues, which the team resolves in the next sprint. You document lessons learned and end the day shipping a feature that cuts manual partner interventions, celebrating the success with your team.

About the team Your Domain: Partner Onboarding & Journey Automation Own the end-to-end partner journey from registration to co-sell readiness by designing intuitive, seamless experiences. This includes:

Managing registration, account oversight, and program enrollment Defining go-to-market strategies and meeting AWS technical/training requirements Partners connect with peers, gain approval to collaborate directly with AWS sales teams, list opportunities in Partner Central, and access AWS seller support to close deals.

Post-readiness, drive AWS Marketplace success across three channels:

Co-sell (collaborative selling with AWS teams) Direct-to-Customer (Marketplace listings) Re-sell (channel partner distribution)

Requirements

Do you have experience in Systems engineering?, * Technical Expertise: Proficiency in cloud computing (AWS services), software development lifecycle, and distributed systems.

  • Problem-Solving Mindset: Ability to break down complex marketplace challenges into scalable solutions.
  • Collaboration & Ownership: Thrives in agile environments and takes end-to-end responsibility for features from design to production.
  • Passion for Innovation: Eagerness to push boundaries in marketplace technology, security, and user experience., * 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
  • 2+ years of non-internship design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience
  • 1+ years of designing and developing large-scale, multi-tiered, multi-threaded, embedded or distributed software applications, tools, systems, and services using: C#, C++, Java, or Perl experience
  • Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field
  • Experience programming with at least one software programming language, * 3+ years of full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science or equivalent

Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
