Job description

NVIDIA GPU Application Engineering is a department to provide technical support to NVIDIA global customers. Our main mission is delivering NVIDIA GPU related technical information to our customers, training our customers to design NVIDIA GPU related products, collaborate with OEM/ODM for new feature development, and supporting our customer to efficiently build NVIDIA GPU related products into the market.

We are now looking for a Notebook Hardware Application Engineer in Santa Clara with the ability to work for notebook feature development, build engineering documents, testing and debugging; prioritize customer issues, resolve customer problems, and maintain good customer relation. This is a highly technical engineering support role that is providing best-in-class support to NVIDIA’s notebook customers. We are looking for someone who has superb interpersonal skills, to understand, explain, and problem solves for customers and engineers.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Working with NVIDIA multi-functional teams for notebook feature development, Build design guides, application notes and other supporting technical collateral for notebook.

  • Provide technical support during notebook development, testing, and production.

  • Perform hardware design reviews including schematic, PCB and PDN to ensure customer designs meet NVIDIA guidelines.

  • Conduct the installation, configuration, debug and bring-up of customer notebook hardware.

  • Work directly with NVIDIA customers, and analyze data to answer questions, reproduce errors, resolve, or escalate customer issues.

  • Supervise, file new bugs and reproduce issues as needed.

Requirements

  • BS or higher in EE, CE or Systems Engineering or equivalent experience.

  • 5 years’ experience with notebook hardware and circuit design.

  • Professional-level interpersonal skills, including your ability to adjust your communication to the technical level of the audience; Drive technical issues across multiple teams.

  • Analytical thinking with good problem-solving abilities.

  • Extensive Knowledge of NB hardware, power, thermal and electrical systems.

  • Ability of signal measurement and scope operations.

  • Good knowledge of X86 System Architecture.

  • Familiar with Linux would be advantageous.

  • Strong communications skills.

  • Innovative, results-oriented problem solver.

Ways to stand out from the crowd:

  • Experience with ARM.

  • Hardware design and knowledge of PCIe, I2C, DP/eDP/HDMI, USB-C, I2S, SATA.

  • Extensive Knowledge of notebook hardware, circuit design, power, thermal and electrical systems.

Benefits & conditions

Your base salary will be determined based on your location, experience, and the pay of employees in similar positions. The base salary range is 136,000 USD - 218,500 USD.
