Data Center Controls Engineer

Amazon Web Services (AWS) seeks a Data Center Controls Engineer to design, implement, and optimize control systems that power AWS’s global data centers. You’ll develop and support PLC/SCADA-based solutions for mechanical and electrical infrastructure, ensuring high availability, safety, and efficiency. Partnering with capacity delivery, operations, and design teams, you’ll drive commissioning, automation improvements, and root-cause analysis while creating standards and documentation. • Implement and maintain monitoring, alarming, and automation for mechanical and electrical infrastructure
• Collaborate with design, operations, and capacity planning teams to integrate controls into new builds and retrofits
• Analyze system performance data to improve reliability, efficiency, and scalability
• Support commissioning, testing, and troubleshooting of control systems across global data centers
• Ensure controls designs and operations comply with safety, security, and regulatory standards
• Develop technical documentation, standards, and best practices for data center controls
• Provide engineering escalation support for complex incidents impacting capacity or availability
