Job description
The Microsoft 365 Enterprise Architect serves as the accountable owner for the design, governance, security, and daily operations of the organization’s Microsoft 365 platform. This role provides strategic and hands-on technical leadership to ensure Microsoft 365 services are secure, compliant, resilient, and aligned with business objectives in a regulated environment.
The architect defines the Microsoft 365 target architecture, establishes tenant-wide standards and guardrails, and partners closely with Business, Security, Compliance, Legal, and Infrastructure teams to enable modern, secure, and efficient collaboration at enterprise scale.
What You’ll Do
- Own the end-to-end architecture, governance, security, and operations of the Microsoft 365 platform, ensuring alignment with business goals and regulatory requirements.
- Define and maintain tenant-wide standards, roadmaps, and guardrails across Microsoft 365 services, including identity, collaboration, endpoint management, information protection, and automation.
- Lead security, compliance, and risk controls for Microsoft 365 by partnering with Security, Compliance, Legal, and Internal Audit teams to meet audit and regulatory expectations.
- Provide hands-on operational ownership, serving as the primary escalation point for service health, complex incidents, governance challenges, and platform optimization.
- Drive automation-first operations, license optimization, and platform efficiency while enabling secure and scalable adoption of collaboration and low-code capabilities across the enterprise.
Requirements
- Senior-level experience designing and operating enterprise-scale Microsoft 365 environments, with deep hands-on expertise across core M365 services and governance.
- Strong background in security, identity, and compliance within a regulated environment, including Zero Trust principles and audit readiness.
- Proven ability to own platform outcomes, balancing security, reliability, usability, and cost optimization.
- Hands-on experience with automation and scripting (PowerShell, Microsoft Graph) and an automation-first operational mindset.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to partner effectively across IT, Security, Compliance, and business stakeholders and translate technical risk into business context.
