Remote Senior Backend Engineer - Java - EST USA - Up to $180k

As a Senior Backend Engineer - Java, you’ll deliver new features, improve performance and reliability, reduce technical debt, and help shape backend standards and long-term strategy. This role is fully remote from anywhere in the United States, with east coast business hours. The suitable Senior Backend Engineer - Java will have the following responsibilities:

• Be the internal Backend architecture expert, driving standards.
• Improve the quality of internal software by reshaping legacy areas.
• Own reliability and performance by identifying bugs & issues and improving the company UX with attainable outcomes
• Mentor junior engineers, leading by example and sharing best practice.
• Work with a variety of teams across the organization, mainly product & design to ensure requirements are clear and executed successfully
• Be a great communicator and collaborator, working with team members on code reviews and shared problem solving. This role will be across multiple time zones and it’s a remote position, so being a clear and concise communicator is an absolute must!, The suitable Senior Backend Engineer - Java, will have the following

• Bachelors Degree
• A minimum of 5 and ideally 7-10+ years Java development & backend engineering experience
• Ecommerce experience is a HUGE plus
• You must be an expert in Java and also have experience with at least 1 additional backend and frontend language
• Experience improving legacy codebases
• Automated testing experience
• Microservices architecture knowledge and expertise
• CI/CD, Docker, Kubernetes & AWS experience
