Job description

  • Production Support: Enhance operations and planning software solutions to address current and evolving needs.
  • Renewable Integration: Evaluate current study tools and procedures, identify gaps, develop technology roadmaps and solutions to enable the reliable integration of renewable and inverter-based resources.
  • EMT Modeling and Studies: Provide comprehensive solutions to address ISO’s evolving EMT modeling and study needs.
  • Internal Consulting: Analyze, design, prototype and recommend innovative engineering and software solutions to complex technical challenges for ISO business units including Planning, Operations, and IT.
  • External Collaboration: Partner with leading research institutions and industry groups (EPRI, PSERC, CURENT, DOE National Labs, software vendors) to advance state-of-the-art technologies.
  • Technology Exploration and Use Case Development: Stay abreast of emerging technologies, collaborate with business users to identify and define compelling use cases, and prototype innovative solutions for evolving system challenges., We are looking for a talented engineer to join our Advanced Technology Solutions (ATS) department. Requirements

  • PhD degree in Electrical Engineering, with a focus on power system stability and control.
  • Strong background in power system modeling, simulation, and analysis, including experience with IBRs in both phasor and EMT domains.
  • Advanced user of commercial tools such as PSS/E, PSCAD, DSATools, PowerWorld, etc.
  • Hands-on software development experience in Python, Matlab, C#, Java, etc.
  • Good analytical, communication and presentation skills.
  • At least five years of experience is required for the Senior level, and eight years of experience is required for the Lead level.
