Job description

Work with an innovative technology organization supporting digital customer experiences and enterprise modernization initiatives for a leading convenience retailer.

This role is ideal for a highly skilled developer who enjoys owning solutions from concept through production and working in a collaborative, fast-moving environment.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, test, and deploy enterprise Java applications
  • Build and maintain REST APIs and microservices
  • Participate throughout the full software development lifecycle
  • Collaborate with architects, product leaders, and QA teams
  • Contribute to cloud-native application development
  • Support CI/CD and DevOps practices
  • Participate in stakeholder discussions, requirements gathering, and technical planning
  • Troubleshoot performance issues and optimize existing systems

Requirements

  • 7+ years of Java development experience
  • Expertise with:
  • Java 11, 17, or 21
  • Spring Boot
  • Spring MVC
  • Spring Data
  • Spring Security
  • Experience building microservices and REST APIs
  • Strong object-oriented programming and design patterns knowledge
  • SQL experience with PostgreSQL, Oracle, MySQL, or Azure SQL
  • Experience with Git-based source control
  • Experience with Docker and Kubernetes
  • Familiarity with CI/CD tools such as GitHub Actions or Jenkins
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work independently

Nice-to-Have Experience

  • Azure cloud services
  • Kafka or RabbitMQ
  • MongoDB, Redis, or DynamoDB
  • Retail or POS systems
  • Android-connected device environments
  • React or modern front-end frameworks
