Job description

Title: Senior Software Engineer Location: Washington, DC / Tysons, VA / Rockville, MD (Hybrid 3 days onsite with 2 days remote) Duration: 6 Months with possible extension Interview process: Prescreen, Phone, Onsite panel, We are seeking a Senior Software Engineer to design, develop, and maintain enterprise-scale software solutions in a cloud-native AWS environment. This is a hands-on engineering role for someone who enjoys solving complex technical problems, building scalable backend systems, mentoring teammates, and driving engineering best practices., Design, develop, and maintain scalable Java-based backend applications using Spring Boot and microservices. Architect and implement enterprise-grade, cloud-native solutions on AWS. Develop RESTful APIs and event-driven applications using modern architectural patterns. Design scalable data models and integrate relational and NoSQL databases. Contribute to system architecture, performance optimization, security, and reliability initiatives. Build and support CI/CD pipelines while promoting DevOps best practices. Leverage AI and LLM tools to improve engineering productivity and software delivery. Mentor junior engineers and collaborate across cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality solutions.

Requirements

7 years of software engineering experience with strong object-oriented programming skills. Expert-level Java development experience; Python experience preferred. Strong experience with Spring Boot, microservices, REST APIs, and distributed systems. Experience designing scalable, enterprise-grade system architectures. Hands-on experience with AWS services such as Lambda, ECS/Fargate, S3, SQS, SNS, Step Functions, and Aurora. Experience with relational databases (PostgreSQL, MySQL) and NoSQL databases (MongoDB, Cassandra), including data modeling. Experience with CI/CD, DevOps practices, automated testing, performance tuning, and application security. Familiarity with AI/LLM technologies and applying AI tools to software development workflows. Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
