Geographic Information System Specialist
Introduction
This growing consultancy supports major programmes across the defence and security landscape, helping teams make faster, smarter decisions using the power of geospatial insight. They’re adding several GIS specialists who can bring technical skill, curiosity, and a steady hand in high-stakes environments.
Role Overview:
Location: West Midlands (on-site with defence customers)

What You’ll Be Doing:
- Managing and maintaining a range of geospatial datasets to support critical decision-making.
- Building and refining web mapping tools, dashboards, and data visualisations.
- Supporting the delivery of geospatial applications using modern esri technology.
- Applying scripting skills to automate processes, improve workflows, and enhance data quality.
- Working closely with defence teams in a dynamic, operationally focused environment.
- Upholding the highest standards of security and compliance.
Main Skills Needed:
- Strong grounding in geospatial data management and SQL.
- Practical experience with esri tools, ideally including Enterprise Portal and ArcGIS Pro.
- Scripting capability (Python preferred).
- Understanding of data science workflows and analytical approaches.
- UK national with (or eligible for) Developed Vetting.
- Proactive, resilient, and able to solve complex problems with calm and clarity.
