Job description

More Than Just A Job

As a proud B-Corp we focus on using business as a force for good. We do this by balancing out people and planet with profit. For every Mindful Chef recipe box bought we donate the equivalent of a school meal to a child in a less developed country (over 20 million meals donated and counting…) and we have also pledged to go Net Zero by 2030 but there are so many other initiatives that we would love to tell you about!

What we are looking for

We’re looking for mid level, product-focused Rails Engineers to help expand our modern full-stack Rails web platform.

Collaborating closely with our product and design teams, and the rest of the engineering team, you’ll bring features and products to life following our 6-week cycle Shape Up process.

You are

  • Experienced with Ruby, and modern Rails embracing Hotwire and Stimulus.
  • A keen problem-solver and self-starter - you work well as part of a team but thrive when given autonomy to drive work forward independently.
  • Have a product mindset, and want to solve real problems for customers
  • Excited to work with modern Rails and new front end paradigms.
  • Someone who takes pride in the code base and platform they work on.

You will

  • Work with a team of exceptional engineers, taking pride in delivering high quality and modern Rails code.
  • Identify and implement improvements to performance, user experience, and code quality
  • Review code, engage with team members on their reviews of your work to collaborate, learn and grow.

What you’ll be working with

  • Tech Stack: Ruby on Rails, Hotwire (Turbo, and Stimulus), PostgreSQL, Sidekiq, Redis, Tailwind v4
  • Infrastructure: Heroku, AWS

Workflow: GitHub for version control and CI/CD, Shape Up methodology
