Job description

Amazon is seeking an experienced Finance Transformation Manager to help design and transform our global consolidation and financial reporting capabilities as part of a large-scale Finance ERP transformation. This role sits at the intersection of Accounting, Finance, and technology, with primary responsibility for translating complex consolidation, controllership, and financial reporting requirements into scalable future-state processes and system capabilities. The successful candidate will bring strong accounting and consolidation expertise, experience operating in complex global environments, and working knowledge of SAP S/4HANA Group Reporting or comparable enterprise consolidation platforms. You will partner closely with Accounting, Controllership, Finance, ERP Product, Solution Architecture, and technology teams to define future-state consolidation processes, evaluate design alternatives, support SAP Group Reporting design, validate financial outcomes, and ensure the solution meets Amazon’s global financial reporting and controllership requirements. This role requires an individual who can move between detailed accounting analysis and broader transformation decisions - understanding how legal entity structures, accounting policies, ownership relationships, currencies, intercompany activity, and reporting requirements translate into an enterprise consolidation architecture., * Lead Finance and Accounting analysis supporting the transformation of Amazon’s global consolidation and financial reporting capabilities.

  • Partner with Accounting and Controllership teams to translate business, accounting, and reporting requirements into future-state processes and system capabilities.
  • Drive design decisions across key consolidation areas including organizational structures, financial statement items, intercompany eliminations, currency translation, ownership structures, and reporting hierarchies.
  • Partner with Product, Solution Architecture, SAP, and technology teams through solution design, configuration, testing, and deployment.
  • Lead financial validation and reconciliation of Group Reporting results, ensuring solutions produce accurate, controlled, and auditable financial outcomes.
  • Identify opportunities to simplify, standardize, and automate consolidation, close, reconciliation, and reporting processes.
  • Develop and manage integrated plans, milestones, dependencies, and deliverables across Finance, Accounting, and technology workstreams.
  • Establish mechanisms to identify, track, escalate, and resolve program risks, design decisions, dependencies, and execution blockers.
  • Drive cross-functional alignment and ensure key Accounting and transformation decisions are made with clear ownership and accountability.
  • Develop recommendations, decision materials, and program updates for senior leaders, communicating progress, risks, key decisions, and areas requiring leadership intervention.

A day in the life A Finance Transformation Manager on this team combines Finance expertise with transformation leadership. You may work with Accounting teams to define a future-state consolidation process, partner with SAP and Solution Architecture teams on a key design decision, analyze results from a Group Reporting test cycle, or drive resolution of a dependency affecting multiple workstreams. You will also manage priorities, risks, decisions, and cross-functional dependencies, translating complex Finance and technology topics into clear recommendations for senior leaders and helping move the broader ERP transformation from design through implementation.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in accounting, information systems, finance, or equivalent

  • 7+ years of experience in Accounting, Finance, financial reporting, consolidation, Finance transformation, or related roles.
  • Experience with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Workday) in consolidation, Master data, or financial reporting transformation

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in working for Big four or Fortune 500 companies
  • CPA, Chartered Accountant, MBA, or equivalent professional qualification.
  • Experience leading cross-functional initiatives across Finance, Accounting, and technology teams in managing complex projects, dependencies, risks, and stakeholder communications.

The base salary range for this position is listed below. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
