This is a strategically important opportunity for an experienced Lead QRM Model Developer to join Coventry Building Society’s Financial Planning & Analysis team following the integration of The Co-operative Bank. Reporting to the Senior Manager QRM, the role holder will lead the development, enhancement and maintenance of the Group’s QRM forecasting and balance sheet models, helping to shape modelling capabilities that support key financial, treasury and risk management decisions. Working across Finance, Treasury, Capital Planning, Risk and Product teams, the person in post will be responsible for ensuring QRM models remain robust, well-governed and aligned to regulatory expectations. The role will involve developing forecasting and behavioural models, enhancing modelling approaches across a range of banking products, supporting transformation initiatives and providing technical expertise to both internal stakeholders and external QRM partners. This role offers the opportunity to work on high-profile projects linked to the Group’s ongoing transformation programme, including system integration, treasury change initiatives and expanded product modelling capabilities. The role holder will regularly engage with senior stakeholders, contribute to governance forums including Group Asset & Liability Committee (GALCO), and play a key role in delivering modelling solutions that directly influence profitability, liquidity, capital planning and long-term business strategy. We operate on a team-led hybrid approach with at least 1 day a week in the Coventry or Manchester office. Our benefits include:

Requirements
This role would suit a highly experienced QRM modelling specialist who enjoys solving complex technical challenges and influencing key business decisions through high-quality forecasting and balance sheet modelling. You’ll be comfortable operating in a highly regulated banking environment, partnering with stakeholders across Finance, Treasury and Risk, and communicating complex modelling concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences. For this role you’ll need to have:
- Significant experience developing and enhancing QRM models within a retail banking environment.
- A strong background in financial services forecasting, balance sheet modelling, Asset & Liability Management (ALM) and Interest Rate Risk in the Banking Book (IRRBB).
- Proven experience configuring and developing within QRM, including behavioural modelling, assumptions management, scenario capability and system configuration.
- A thorough understanding of relevant prudential regulations and accounting standards.
- Experience producing model development documentation, committee papers and governance materials for senior stakeholders and governance committees.
- The ability to build effective working relationships across Finance, Treasury, Risk and Product teams, as well as with external suppliers and partners.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with experience working with large and complex datasets.
- Experience operating within robust model governance and control frameworks, including engagement with assurance, validation or second line teams.
- Confidence presenting technical concepts, modelling approaches and outputs to senior stakeholders and governance forums.
Experience in these areas would be helpful:
- Experience supporting large-scale transformation, integration or model redevelopment programmes within banking or financial services.
- Knowledge of modelling approaches for products such as credit cards, current accounts, commercial lending portfolios or treasury instruments.
- Experience supporting treasury system implementations, model migrations or data feed enhancement projects.
- A postgraduate qualification (MSc or above) in a quantitative discipline.
