Job description

We are partnering with a well-established and growing organisation that is investing heavily in its data and technology capabilities. Operating within a fast-paced environment, the business is focused on using data to drive operational efficiency, improve decision-making, and support future growth. As part of this investment, they are looking to appoint a Data Engineer to join their technology team and play a key role in the development and evolution of their modern data platform. You will work closely with technical specialists and business stakeholders to design, build and optimise data solutions that support reporting across the organisation. The role offers exposure to cloud-based technologies, enterprise-scale datasets and a varied project landscape, giving you the opportunity to make a tangible impact on how data is used throughout the business. This opportunity is ideal for someone who enjoys solving complex data challenges, working across multiple teams and contributing to the development of a scalable, high-performing data environment. Responsibilities

  • Design, build and maintain scalable data pipelines to ingest, process and transform data from multiple sources
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to gather requirements and deliver data-driven solutions
  • Develop and maintain data models to support reporting, analytics and business intelligence requirements
  • Implement and manage data orchestration workflows, including monitoring and error handling
  • Support ad hoc reporting, management information and analytical requirements
  • Communicate technical concepts and findings to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • Contribute to knowledge sharing, continuous improvement and best practice adoption across the team

Requirements

  • Previous experience working as a Data Engineer
  • Strong understanding of data engineering principles, ETL processes and data warehousing concepts
  • Experience using workflow orchestration tools such as Airflow to schedule, monitor and manage data pipelines
  • Experience working with at least one major cloud data platform, preferably Azure
  • Strong data modelling skills, including relational and dimensional modelling
  • Knowledge of relational database technologies and best practices
  • Proficiency in Python for data engineering, automation and data transformation

Benefits & conditions

  • Salary up to £50,000
  • Opportunity to play a key role in the growth of a modern data function
  • Exposure to cloud technologies, large-scale datasets and data transformation projects
  • Collaborative and forward-thinking technology team
  • Ongoing professional development and learning opportunities
  • Genuine opportunity to influence data strategy and platform development
