Job description

Public Sector - System Admin / Kubernetes Engineer

An onsite role at an HPE partner or customer office in the UK. You will join a Hybrid Cloud Delivery team to support the design, implementation and delivery of scalable Kubernetes and big-data solutions that are automated, self-healing and built for high security environments.

Responsibilities

  • Implement or support parts of the technical solution in accordance with agreed designs.
  • Develop detailed technical designs for enterprise solutions when required.
  • Lead small to medium technical projects and coordinate with project managers and client representatives.
  • Design and deliver solution architecture in a multi-system environment.
  • Provide technical support, integration advice, and solution guidance to client teams.
  • Document project knowledge, lessons learned and produce internal delivery materials.
  • Participate in presales activities and assist in proposal development.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of professional experience in IT, with a bachelor’s degree in computer science or related discipline (or equivalent experience).
  • Experience delivering solutions in the UK public sector.
  • Strong knowledge of Kubernetes and container orchestration, including deployment, scaling and management.
  • Experience with highly secure solutions, compliant to UK public sector security standards.
  • Proven ability to manage time, prioritise tasks and communicate clearly to technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Excellent written and spoken English skills.
  • Capable of translating technical details into concise written documentation.
  • Experience with proposal writing and risk assessment for client engagements.

Required Knowledge and Skills

  • Deep technical knowledge of Kubernetes, containerised applications and related DevOps tooling.
  • Strong understanding of cloud and on-prem hybrid environments.
  • Ability to provide design scope, estimate effort and assess risks for deliverables.
  • Proficient in consulting skills: questioning, active listening, clear presentation and influencing.
  • Experience leading a small team on a specific deliverable.
  • Hands-on experience with secure networking, encryption and UK public sector compliance.

Prerequisites & Restrictions

Must hold a valid National Security Clearance Level 04 - Developed Vetting (DV - UKIC).

The role is onsite with no remote or hybrid work option.
