Job description

DI is hiring an Information Security Systems Engineer (ISSE) to provide full life cycle DoD Risk Management Framework (RMF) support to Navy and Marine Corps systems. This is an exciting opportunity to work directly with mission-critical defense systems and make a meaningful impact on cybersecurity and national security. The location for this opportunity is fully onsite at Naval Support Activity - Philadelphia., * Perform system security scans of hardware and software builds using the ACAS suite, SCAP, and DISA STIGs.

  • Support the Assessment & Authorization (A&A) process, including development and maintenance of documentation required to obtain site installation approval.
  • Identify, document, and track vulnerabilities through Plans of Actions and Milestones (POA&Ms), driving remediation and mitigation of security discrepancies prior to system release.
  • Use the eMASS Information Assurance Compliance Tool to validate that deployed systems are properly configured, securely maintained, and patched.
  • Maintain the system’s Accreditation Package through continuous monitoring and ongoing security assessments.
  • Create and update technical and cybersecurity documentation to support baseline changes throughout the system lifecycle in accordance with Department of Defense instructions, policies, and procedures.
  • Work closely with cybersecurity, systems engineering, and government stakeholders to identify and resolve security issues and maintain system readiness.
  • Apply vendor software updates, security patches, and configuration changes to maintain secure system baselines.
  • Communicate technical findings, vulnerabilities, and recommended remediation actions to cybersecurity and engineering leadership.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Cybersecurity, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • Active Security+ certification.
  • CCNA or equivalent networking certification.
  • 5+ years of experience working with:
  • Layer 2 and Layer 3 networking
  • Palo Alto Firewalls
  • Cisco switching
  • Software Defined Networking (SDN)
  • 5+ years of experience performing vulnerability scanning using ACAS/Nessus.
  • 5+ years of experience updating Nessus plugins from DISA repositories.
  • Working knowledge of:
  • Authorization to Operate (ATO) processes
  • Risk Management Framework (RMF)
  • DISA STIG implementation
  • SCAP Compliance Checker
  • eMASS
  • Experience applying vendor software updates, security patches, and system configuration changes.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present technical information, security findings, and recommendations to cybersecurity and engineering leadership.
  • Experience developing, maintaining, and updating technical documentation.
  • Ability to follow established Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) while working independently and as part of a mission-focused team.
  • Familiarity with Git version control.
  • Experience supporting VMware ESXi, Windows, Linux, and enterprise hardware.
  • Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills with the ability to identify vulnerabilities and drive issues through resolution.
  • The ability to work fully onsite in Philadelphia, PA.
  • A current, active security clearance that is at least Secret level (or higher).
