DevOps Engineer

Insight Global is seeking a Senior Azure DevOps Engineer to support the deployment of a new enterprise application and its supporting backend services within Microsoft Azure. This individual will take ownership of the existing deployment infrastructure, complete the performance testing environment, automate application deployments, and maintain the platform through production release and beyond.

The engineer will work closely with the Cloud Architect, application teams, and junior DevOps engineers to implement architecture standards through Terraform and GitHub Actions. Responsibilities include managing Azure infrastructure, building reusable deployment automation, supporting multi-region environments, and establishing the observability and reliability practices needed for a high-volume application. The immediate priority will be completing a performance environment capable of supporting heavy-load testing, followed by supporting the application’s full production deployment.

10+ years of DevOps, cloud engineering, platform engineering, or related experience.

• Expert-level Terraform experience, including module development, state management, policy-as-code, drift detection, and reusable infrastructure patterns.

• Strong Microsoft Azure experience, including networking, IAM, cost management, and multi-region deployments.

• Experience deploying and supporting Kubernetes-based applications and containerized workloads.

• Strong CI/CD pipeline engineering experience with GitHub Actions, including reusable workflows, composite actions, caching, and secrets management.

• Experience with Azure API Management, SQL Server, Azure Service Bus, and Azure Functions.

• Experience building performance and heavy-load testing environments.

• Experience implementing SLOs, monitoring, alerting, incident response processes, and operational runbooks.

• Ability to lead technical execution, guide junior DevOps engineers, and partner effectively with architects and application teams. - Experience building self-service infrastructure and promoting GitOps practices.

• Knowledge of OIDC authentication, secrets vaulting, IaC scanning tools such as tfsec or Checkov, and Cloud Security Posture Management.

• Experience with Azure Monitor, Application Insights, Datadog, or Grafana.

• Background supporting enterprise-scale, high-volume customer-facing applications.

• Experience with QSR, MarTech, retail environments, etc.

• Azure, Terraform, or Kubernetes certifications.
